The Next Level: Community Involvement for Dental Insurance Brokers

The more involved your dental insurance brokerage is in your community the more you, your team, and your business can become recognized as a valuable member of that community. Traditional marketing processes no longer deliver the best results. 'Interrupt marketing' and old-fashioned 'close-early-and-often' techniques don't encourage potential clients to form lasting relationships with that dental insurance broker. If you really want to take your business to the next level you must get properly involved in your marketplace's community.

People want happy lifestyles free from inconvenience, discomfort, embarrassment, and pain. Businesses that provide dental and health benefits for their employees want to keep costs low costs while bringing their workforce the benefits they need to be healthy, happy, and effective.

In a market filled with social media, ads, and automated communications, it can be hard to get a personal message across that your company is the best one to do business with. It takes time and effort to cultivate trust with and create new clients. One of the most effective ways to use that time and effort is to become involved with your potential clients in non-business and non-sales ways. This is where 'community involvement' comes in. By becoming involved you will be seen as an integral member of the community who is liked, useful,  supports community activities, and offers valuable information about 'things they need' such as dental insurance.

Effective Community Involvement

There are several straightforward elements to getting this right.

  1. Choose your marketplace - where do you want to get more long-term business (individuals, large or small businesses)
  2. Know what those people do or are interested in
  3. Sponsor events, participate in those events, teach, advise, and support people to make those events successful
  4. Get permission to teach and use your expertise to educate on living healthier lives (better teeth and gums), saving money, etc., so they want to learn about dental insurance coverage
  5. Enlist the support of dental practices who also serve those communities, so you double-up on the message and halve the effort
  6. Share ideas with your dental practice supporters on what else you can do and how you can make your efforts more effective

Long Term Involvement Gets Results

Taking your business to the next level through effective community involvement is a long-term commitment. The more you do it, the more you will be seen as their go-to insurer of choice because it will be natural to talk with you and to ask for more advice. This will lead to more contracts being signed. You will also receive more referrals from community members as well as your dental practice community partners.

The ultimate benefit for you, is that because you are their go-to person, you will automatically lock out your competition. And without competition, you will automatically take your business to the next level.
